14:41 zeusk it enables check for aligned memory
14:41 Cotulla nobody will enable that :)
14:41 zeusk and my program get's bus error if i try misaligned access
14:41 zeusk should have used malloc instead :/

14:47 EdLin hi
14:48 zeusk looks like your code for random bits is not random ? i observe a pattern, (when put into 8bit aligned and translate into ascii)
14:48 Cotulla :D
14:48 Cotulla lol
14:48 Cotulla hi
14:48 zeusk or maybe because the probability is 50/50 for bits
14:50 zeusk hmm, html encode for that is B©U_€a, so maybe you meant "BCUEA" ?
14:50 Cotulla lol
14:50 Cotulla FORGOT IT

16:37 h2o hello everyone
16:37 h2o i have a couple of questions to ask, anyone here with enough free time and willing to help? :)
16:38 h2o i have a htc touch hd (blackstone) with wm 6.1 installed (i think it's the OS that came with the phone) ... (i got it from my brother in law)
16:39 h2o i have read a lot of threads on different forums regarding the usage of Android OS with this phone
16:40 h2o people talking about running the Android from a sd-card
16:40 h2o my questions are the following:
16:40 h2o Does this phone really meet the requirements to run android on it?
16:41 h2o Wouldn't it be pretty slow as it is booted from a memory card?
16:41 h2o Does this mean the phone would be running wmo and android at the same time?
16:42 h2o Is there any chance that doing such a thing would brake my phone's hardware and make it useless?
16:44 NetRipper the first android phones had a similar cpu, so yes, the hardware requirements would be met.. but the newer android versions would not run smooth as the gfx chip is outdated
16:44 Alex[sp3dev] it would be incredibly slow compared to modern android phones but not because of sd card. once Linux is started, winmo is not running until a reboot. and it can surely break the phone. no phones are reported dead, but the standard disclaimer applies
16:45 h2o ok...
16:45 NetRipper yes, it would be slow to boot and run.. nand is so much faster but touch hd does not have enough nand (if it would even be working in linux)
16:45 DuperMan wow, you're being kind to him for the novelty xD h2o, the forums are your best hope mate
16:45 h2o i use linux on my pc alot
16:45 h2o kind of like the idea of having it on my phone too
16:45 NetRipper basically, there is no proper android support for the touch hd
16:46 NetRipper so if you're thinking of going to use android on your touch hd, forget about it
16:46 Cotulla yeah MSM7k + Android == nolove
16:46 h2o yes but alot of posts on the forum are missplaced and make it hard to get the info you actually need....
16:46 h2o a little pain in the ass to read 100 pages of posts
16:46 DuperMan h2o - the short version is "no"
16:46 h2o i thought i'd get faster answers here
16:46 h2o :)
16:46 NetRipper touch hd only boots android up to the point of "look, i see some nice colors and it kind of looks like android"
16:47 h2o NetRipper that's what i wanted to hear
16:47 DuperMan wm6.1 is awesome though... was.
16:47 NetRipper someone ban this man
16:47 DuperMan lots of cool stuff should be around for it
16:47 DuperMan lol. hey, it IS.
16:47 h2o if it would actually give me a full android experience or just a fun test
16:47 Alex[sp3dev] NetRipper: oh no, nand is not much faster than a decent sd card. and it does have enough nand, we're running off nand on kovs and rhod without problems
16:47 h2o wm 6.1 sux
16:48 h2o i like symbian more.... can you imagine that?
16:48 h2o :D
16:48 NetRipper i can imagine, yes
16:48 Cotulla true Alex
16:48 NetRipper oh the touch hd has 512mb
16:48 DuperMan no, I can't. I'm back to chat, got nothing more to contribute to this discussion even if I do feel like protecting wm :P have fun h2o
16:48 Alex[sp3dev] basically, msm7k is too slow for anything above hvga
16:48 NetRipper DuperMan ;)
16:49 h2o DuperMan tnx ;D
16:49 Cotulla or maybe it's google engineers
16:49 DuperMan :)
16:49 Cotulla WM worked rather fast on WVGA
16:49 Alex[sp3dev] no, it did not
16:49 h2o well it does work faster than symbian phones, and it's got a nice looking UI, but it lacks applications, and does not provide much costumization options
16:49 Cotulla on RHO rather fast
16:49 NetRipper if (msm7k) sleep(100); // just to piss off people
16:50 Cotulla as well android is slow on 800 Mhz MSM7630
16:50 Alex[sp3dev] if you run simple 2d drawing in android, it is about the same as winmo. but notice that start menu scrolling in wm6.5 is also slow and with tearing
16:50 DuperMan k, gotta interject once again - my hx4700 and hx27xx differ
16:50 DuperMan ><
16:50 h2o and i don't need all that windows sync options.... i use linux on my pc
16:50 h2o ,D
16:50 Cotulla it just internal architecture problem
16:50 h2o so...if i want to have android on my phone
16:51 h2o i should just buy myself a galaxy s2?
16:51 h2o ;D
16:51 Cotulla drop it and buy new
16:51 Alex[sp3dev] h2o: as a galaxy s2 owner i do not recommend getting one
16:51 h2o it's 2 expensive :(
16:51 Cotulla Alex why? :D
16:51 NetRipper as a galaxy s2 owner, i do recommend one lol
16:51 Cotulla I don't recommend to buy any samsung crap
16:51 Alex[sp3dev] screen sucks. too low res for 4.3 inch and looks bad with low backlight
16:51 DuperMan you could steal one in theory. get nexus. sgs2 is a weird affair, from a user's perspective looking up at you devs :P
16:51 NetRipper oh god i so disagree
16:52 Cotulla NetRipper, why?
16:52 h2o Alex[sp3dev] i heard that the new ericson (don't know the model name though) is cheaper and has the same performance
16:52 h2o is it true?
16:52 NetRipper the screen is heavenly..
16:52 Cotulla haha
16:52 Alex[sp3dev] compared to msm, samsung is lots of time better. at least they have almost everything including camera in 1. open source and 2. in mainline linux. and no arm9 that crashes all the time
16:52 DuperMan NetRipper: the contrast is brilliant, the res is fail
16:52 NetRipper i love the colors.. the res might be a little lower than the qhd of sensation, but thats like the only downside
16:52 Cotulla dunno but I hate SuperAMOLED which installed in Samsung Focus
16:53 h2o ok guys thanks for your quick replies
16:53 DuperMan h2o: join #htc-linux-chat
16:53 Cotulla NetRipper, and white is blue?
16:53 NetRipper i dont have that problem fortunately
16:53 NetRipper but i heard about it yes
16:53 h2o DuperMan i already have... but i also already got my answers here from you guys
16:53 Cotulla all AMOLED display which I saw all had bad white
16:54 NetRipper the white is only blue if i tilt the device
16:54 NetRipper but looking at it, its fine
16:54 Cotulla ;)
16:54 Cotulla as well samsung copy case from apple
16:54 DuperMan my white is white, and in codeworxx's cm9 it's pretty dang glorious.
16:55 Cotulla on LEO white is white. I agree :D
16:55 Cotulla and black is mirror
16:55 h2o anyway i think it's a little to soon to be jumping on new android phones.... they're 2 expensive... i will rather wait for a year or 2 and get one for a low price, which runs android fast and with no problems
16:55 DuperMan >< I'm without a Leo since june. send me your Leo Cotulla!
16:55 NetRipper in dutch we have a saying, but i dont know the english... its like "better to steal something good then to invent something bad"
16:56 Cotulla they never will run Android fast :D
16:56 h2o and frankly i don't like the idea of having a phone that's bigger than my palm
16:56 h2o it makes no sense
16:56 DuperMan h2o: nokia 3310i
16:56 NetRipper i have a leo biting dusthehe
16:56 h2o hahaha
16:56 h2o no...something as thin as possible
16:56 Alex[sp3dev] i'm using sgs2 as a good old pda ;). like those ipaqs back in 2006
16:56 h2o and light as possible
16:56 DuperMan NetRipper: bastard. I SOOOO miss my Leo :(
16:57 h2o it is a phone....
16:57 GNUtoo but with mainline kernel....priceless
16:57 NetRipper such a waste alex, it's a proper gaming machine, especially with hdmi cable and bluetooth controller <3
16:57 h2o if i need a computer i'd carry my laptop with me
16:57 Cotulla how is turn off mmu Alex there?
16:57 Cotulla I remember u complains about problems
16:57 h2o and have full functional linux on it ;D
16:57 Alex[sp3dev] h2o: my phone is philips xenium x513
16:57 DuperMan h2o: welcome to the future, we have cyber-cookies
16:58 GNUtoo h2o, with ACPI? like problem with DSDT in suspend etc...
16:58 h2o a friend of mine has the Samsung galaxy s2
16:58 h2o and in my opinion
16:58 h2o it's too damn big
16:58 h2o it's more like a pocket pc
16:58 h2o than a phone :)
16:58 h2o it's clumsy to hold on your ear
16:58 Alex[sp3dev] NetRipper: yeah, as for gaming, it is cool. I've got a couple of warez^W racing games there
16:58 DuperMan ^my point about wm6.1. pocket pc ftw
16:59 h2o like we're going back in time, when ppl had those enormous satelite phones
16:59 h2o ;D
16:59 NetRipper hehe
16:59 GNUtoo what about galaxy tab as phone?
16:59 DuperMan nokia n-gage!
16:59 Alex[sp3dev] GNUtoo: one of my friends uses his gtab as a phone.. the 7 inch one
16:59 GNUtoo lol
16:59 GNUtoo Alex[sp3dev], paulk in #replicant is working on adapting the samsung-ril and libsamsung-ipc to the galxy tab
17:00 h2o nokia 1600 :D and a nice laptop... best combination if u ask me :)))
17:00 GNUtoo the main problem is that graphics is slow.....
17:00 GNUtoo *are
17:00 h2o ok i'm out of here :) thanks again 4 your help everyone
17:00 h2o byebye
17:01 Alex[sp3dev] GNUtoo: yes, i've seen the repository when i was sitting at the university pc today. will check it out later. i guess all exynos are the same (and pv210 is exynos3xxx, it seems)
17:01 GNUtoo ok
17:01 Cotulla lol
17:18 zeusk no samsung crap seconded
17:20 zeusk late to the party :/
17:20 Alex[sp3dev] when Cotulla feels lonely he joins irc under the 'zeusk' nickname
17:21 zeusk >_>
17:21 Cotulla lol
17:21 Cotulla :D
17:21 Cotulla no
17:21 Cotulla it's not me
