15:10 zeusk apt seen cotulla
15:10 apt cotulla is currently on #htc-linux (56m 4s), last said: 'hi small-jeepper'.
15:11 Cotulla hi cookpro
15:11 zeusk me not cockpoo
15:11 zeusk lol
15:11 Cotulla u are. but read it right "coookpro"
15:12 Cotulla ]
15:12 Cotulla lol
15:12 zeusk i was reading irc logs and found this guys epic chat, so i was seeing when was he last online.
15:12 Cotulla heh
15:12 Cotulla we was cool
15:12 Cotulla *he
15:12 zeusk yeah
15:12 zeusk btw, rick_1995 here, check ur inbox :p
15:13 arif-ali hey zeusk, first time I have seen you around irc
15:13 zeusk no, i usually come here in ninja mode :p
15:13 arif-ali ah right
15:14 Cotulla so u rick_1995?
15:14 zeusk htc-linux is 0777 permission, so i not need to identify
15:14 Cotulla or u clockpro? :D
15:15 zeusk 01001001.00100000.01100001.01101101.00100000.01100001.01110111.01100101.01110011.01101111.01101101.01100101.00100000.00111010.01000100.
15:15 Cotulla looks like text
15:16 zeusk btw, cotulla cedesmith told, he consult you regarding linux init code on qsd, so why does kernel (tytung_ics-r1) work on nand on both clk+mag but on sd it crashes in clk only
15:19 zeusk wait, it just crash again, i check last_kmsg
15:21 zeusk http://pastebin.com/s13hRq54 anyone
16:45 zeusk apt seen arif-ali
16:45 apt arif-ali is currently on #debian (6h 37m 30s) #htc-linux (6h 37m 30s). Has said a total of 2 messages. Is idling for 1h 31m 14s, last said: 'ah right'.
16:45 zeusk arif-ali: any headsup on the touchscreen cm recovery ?
16:57 arif-ali zeusk, what are you looking for in terms cm touchscreen recovery
16:57 zeusk you started work on it ?
16:58 zeusk patch was in gerrit
16:59 arif-ali nah, I didn't
16:59 arif-ali I just thought that the 5.5.0.X was touch, but it turns out that it isn't
16:59 arif-ali was it? oh, ok
16:59 arif-ali ics or gingerbread branch?
16:59 zeusk checkout cyanogenmod google plus feed
17:00 zeusk they even included roboto fonts for mdpi, hdpi and xdpi devices
17:03 arif-ali is this the commit you are referring to
17:03 arif-ali https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_bootable_recovery/commit/0df56f4db49c1fde314e1e0b02b32cfc6ceca1dd
17:04 zeusk dunno, it was on my google+ feed, so i thought i'd tell you :)
17:05 arif-ali I have cyanogenmod and koush on my feed, but I haven't seen it, will have a closer delve
17:07 zeusk https://plus.google.com/117962666888533781522/posts/ascjUCHJaQ7
17:07 zeusk oops, my bad
17:07 zeusk they're still working on it.
17:08 arif-ali ah, right, will be out when it get's merged I guess
17:08 arif-ali I have 5.5.0.4 out at the moment in test, so I get no further issues with that, then that will put us in good stead to get the touch one working as well
17:12 zeusk any sign of new charging binaries ? real wierd to have to unplug phone to boot during offmode charge
17:14 arif-ali the charging binaries been the same forever from what I have seen, so not sure on that side
17:14 arif-ali best person to ask is koush at #koush
17:15 arif-ali it's been like that for ever, at least it's one better than magldr, where the is no offmode charging
17:15 zeusk you mean these binaries are universal for all devices ?
17:15 arif-ali yeah, they are
17:15 zeusk cotulla told, he already fixed that, new release should be soon
17:16 arif-ali unless we can get the source code for it, which I asked for, there is no way of doing it
17:16 zeusk maybe then clk will be reduced to just a educational project..
17:16 zeusk koush denied for the source ?
17:17 arif-ali unless we right another service that looks out for a power event, and somehow we reboot the phone, as in essence it is in recovery while it is in offmode charge mode
17:17 arif-ali well, I got no answer
17:17 arif-ali it could be proprietary
17:19 zeusk that shouldn't be tough ? we can write a simple program, if it detect clk in commandline and the offmode charging commandline it will keep checking keypad event otherwise just exit
17:19 arif-ali well, if you can implement that, I can encompass that in
17:21 zeusk i will surely do something regarding that, dan1j3l and cedesmith already have 2 such daemons though i never got to try any of them.
17:23 zeusk but, how do you cross compile a simple C program for arm ? can you teach me how to compile recovery so i can test my patch locally ?
17:23 arif-ali have you got as local copy of CyanogenMod
17:23 arif-ali sources
17:24 zeusk i tried, but it was hogging up complete bandwidth and required access for some crucial work, so had to kill repo
17:24 zeusk any way to limit bandwidth in repo ?
17:25 arif-ali right, well you need to do that, dunno about limiting bandwidth
17:25 zeusk hmm, ill just sync it overnight
17:25 arif-ali well, once you do that
17:26 zeusk is it possible to resume sync if my connection broke during sync ? (sorry for the silly question)
17:26 arif-ali yes, it does that automatically
17:26 arif-ali it only downloads the new/changed stuff
17:27 arif-ali cp ./vendor/cyanogen/products/cyanogen_leo.mk buildspec.mk
17:27 arif-ali . build/envsetup.sh
17:27 arif-ali lunch cyanogen_leo-eng
17:27 zeusk i will need vendor files from your github or is it merged in mainline ?
17:27 arif-ali and then "make -j 5 recoveryimage"
17:28 arif-ali you don't need vendor files at all for recovery
17:28 zeusk oh
17:28 zeusk thanks
17:28 arif-ali you only need it for ROM compilation
17:44 zeusk apt seen tytung
17:44 apt i haven't seen 'tytung', zeusk
17:48 arif-ali you won't find him here, or any one of the IRC channels
17:48 arif-ali I have never seen him, I have been a regular on htc-linux-chat and htc-linux
17:49 arrrghhh yea
17:49 arrrghhh he doesn't come here zeusk. i've only seen him on the forums.
17:51 zeusk i can perfectly run his older kernel using lk, but in his newer version reboots without anything out of place in last_kmsg after panel blank.
17:52 zeusk feels so wierd..
17:52 arif-ali is that the ICS one?
17:53 zeusk yeah. the cm9 build
17:53 zeusk but that is only when i place system on sdcard
17:53 arif-ali no source code unfortunately
17:54 arif-ali zeusk, do you which panel you have? afaik, there are 2 types
17:54 zeusk hold on
17:54 zeusk ill grep
17:54 arif-ali as i remember, me and seasdersn were doing the initial tests, I had different to him, and I could get it workingm, and he couldn't
17:55 zeusk i have auo panel
17:55 arif-ali check out the old cLK thread, and you should see it the issue he was having
17:55 zeusk hold on
17:55 arif-ali and then cedesmith changed the code to get it working
17:58 zeusk he had sharp panel
17:59 zeusk but the problem is his older kernel releases including hastarin's kernel which he forked works wonderfully.
18:01 arif-ali and apparantlly, he onlay amended the kernel to add extra stuff on the ics kernel, but best to talk to him through the forums, as he really does need to start giving his sources
18:05 zeusk also, arif i had another thing in my mind. cedesmith made a patch for linux kernel so that if no panel was detected, it wouldn't lead to bug, then how would other android phones charge ?
18:06 zeusk by "other" i meant other native devices
18:06 zeusk what about your sgs 2 ?
18:07 arif-ali well the offmode charging is msm7x30 stuff afaik, so that is the common code for that in terms of recovery
18:07 arif-ali not sure about the sgs2, as that may be driven by the kernel instead
18:08 arif-ali as with the sgs2, the ramdisk and zImage are fused together
18:18 zeusk i think i found the issue
18:19 zeusk 0x0000000 is MPU'd where linux wants to write reset vector, and it segfaults ?
18:28 WisTilt2 detule, is 3.2 ready for autobuild? i'm going to be away until the end of the week and can set it up before I leave. I haven't tried it yet so don't know what state it's in at this point. i'll be around another 3-4hrs so let me know.
18:28 detule hi WisTilt2 I think it's auto-build ready, and thanks for doing it
18:29 WisTilt2 hey np. everything ported over and pretty much functional? i'll have to stick it on one of my 300's and give it a whirl over the next few days while im traveling.
18:30 detule more or less let's compare notes when you are back :)
18:30 WisTilt2 im free now if you have time. i'll set up the autobuild right now
18:31 zeusk what device are you guys running 3.2 on ?
18:32 WisTilt2 tp2
18:32 detule it should work *ok*...battery life should also be better than last time you looked at 3.1 as i found a some unnecessary polling in the bma150 driver happening even when userland has Auto-Rotate to OFF
18:32 zeusk oh, thats msm 7x20 right ?
18:32 WisTilt2 7201
18:33 WisTilt2 detule, i suspected that 150 driver was hogging. measured it at around 1ma but it sure seemed to draw much more than that in use.
18:33 detule yeah it was polling every 0.2 secs, regardless of the userland setting
18:34 detule not sure how much this would save but it cant hurt...
18:35 WisTilt2 never tried battery life on 3.1 but on .39 with bma150 removed i get .58%hr consistently in sleep. anything around 1% would be nice which is about where winmo is at best with no sync.
18:41 detule well .39 also has that old-fashioned bma driver which may or may not behave better.....
18:43 detule oh WisTilt2 , both .39 and 3.0 need this guy https://gitorious.org/linux-msm-rhod/linux-msm-rhod/commit/0ffd8ae7bfcc11124821e5999195a2d80938e4d2
18:43 detule i think it *should* prevent that all out audio crash
18:46 WisTilt2 shouldn't that be < 1 or do devices start at 0?
18:47 detule SND(0, "HANDSET")
18:47 WisTilt2 k. ill push that when i finish setting up autobuild.
19:22 WisTilt2 detule, autobuild 3.2 is up and built clean first try
19:24 arrrghhh WisTilt2, i heard that was a bad sign
19:24 arrrghhh :P
19:24 arrrghhh how you doin
19:26 WisTilt2 lol well at least i dont have to do any debugging on the building this go around
19:27 detule thanks WisTilt2 this will be very helpful, especially since my arm-eabi toolchain doesn't seem to want to build 3.2
19:27 arrrghhh 3.2.1, WisTilt2 you are awesome!
19:27 WisTilt2 which one you using? im using 2010.09
19:29 detule yeah 2010.09 both, but arm-none-eabi (on os X) fails, whereas arm-none-linux-gnueabi (on fedora) builds fine...strange thing is that arm-none-eabi toolchain builds all the other kernels just fine
19:30 WisTilt2 autobuild is fedora 12 and arm-2010.09/bin/arm-none-linux-gnueabi- is what i have it set as
